have to open form twice to get to correct record

Hi vbaINet, Indeed these are two different fields. Having used that statement succesfully before, I now realise it was associated with a .findfirst instruction. I set out to look for a solution and found the following code which does the trick. DoCmd.OpenForm "frmPurchase"...

have to open form twice to get to correct record

Hello Access aficionados. In the following code to add an article to a purchase order line table and then open the form on the purchase order in question , I had to open the window “frmPurchase” twice in succession. If I omit the first docmd.openform statement, the form would open at the first...

    13 Type Mismatch error

Can anyone help me? I use Susan Harkin’s Simple solution for tracking changes to Access data. When I call the routine from my Company form it works (a record is created correctly on a change) When I call the routine from my Article form it does not, it gives a Type mismatch error 13 Yet: 1. I...

Hi Paul, thank you so much for coming up with the solution so fast. I implemented the change and of course it worked right away. I do not know how we could progress so fast without the help of all the expert volunteers at this forum.

Can anybody help me with a filtering issue? I have a bound form, in its heading I have a combo box which lists three choices. Basically I want to filter all my purchase records by checking a field PUOrderNb (Example: PO200100025) against the choice made in the combo box, namely DE (for demand)...

Uncle Gizmo, thanks for your update. I will try it at once, though I must say I will have to re-read your reply a couple of times, as I have only recently discovered the beauty of Access.

Run Time error 2455 invalid reference

No, that was the object of our first contact, and I triple checked that this was not the case here. I am certainly interested in the reasons, but only if you have a good link at hand, you must be busy enough. Thanks again.

Run Time error 2455 invalid reference

Sorry yes, I used the term open instead of load, should have been more accurate. Forgot to say that in Andrew's example, the main form has three tab pages, and page two and three each have a subform. Thanks for signalling my mistake.

Run Time error 2455 invalid reference

Hi Uncle Gizmo and VBAInet, thanks for your help. Have written two replies and they both vanished cause I did not check I was logged properly. When I take out the lines in the current event, the form opens, but of course the functionality does not work. If I understand you correctly VBAInet, I...

Hi, I am a bit puzzled by the statement under my identity as a newly registered user that I posted 6 statements, and zero thanks. I guess I missed the procedure for doing this explicitly, for I did thank the person who helped me in each of my 2 replies on a problem I had. Please help, cause I do...

Hello Access experts. I have a main unbound form frmArticle on which there is a tab control with 2 pages. On the first page is a subform frmArticle1, on the second another subform frmArticle2. Error 2465 when refferring to Subform

vbaInet, you really made my day! I had noticed your comment but was not aware of the difference between the name of the control and of the subform, so my checking the name did not yield the expected result. Your help allows me to work further and build the application. I would have thrown in the...

    Hi Access Community

Thanks Uncle Gizmo, I am afraid Milton Keynes is a little far for me, although I am sure I could benefit, as I find the learning curve steep and the problems popping up one after the other irritating to saythe least.

    Hi Access Community

I am fairly new to Access, although I have been programming an application for the last few months and have plodded along the sometimes steep learning curve of VBA. I bought a few Access books in France, as I live close to the French border, which are pretty useless, and would like to take the...
