    Report not being completed properly

Hi Awes Just a thought but if that code was as an embedded macro - which is what ACC2007 seems determined to default everything to unless you hit it hard every time - then this could be the reason. ACC2003 cannot run embedded macros I think. If it has embedded it as a macro then what you need to...

    Data validation

Going slightly skewy on this one. I want user to confirm date entered is OK and if not to clear field back down and allow entry of new date. Sounds reasonable to me and I am sure I have done it before but cannot find the line of code. I have got Private Sub txtNewMot_AfterUpdate() Dim...

Will ADP work in office 2003?

That is interesting - I take it then that usability is not automatic. What sort of things should one take care with? I thought that so long as the default format was not 2007 it would be OK in ACC2003 but your response suggests there is more to it.

Will ADP work in office 2003?

Hmm Might have got that wrong - getting a bit muddled between .adp and .accb. Must be old age and too many acronyms flying around - perhaps it is time for lunch! Malcy

    Changing Background Colour with code

If only limited choices - and I guess blue and pink unless things have dramatically changed (LOL) - then you would be much better using conditional formatting for the text box since it is dead easy. HTH

Will ADP work in office 2003?

I think your best route is to develop an .mdb database. Go into Access Options and select Access 2002-2003 as the default before creating the db. This will give you the right format. You can always easily change the default back to Access 2007 once you have created your db. If you use the Access...

    Which way to go?

I am developing a small app for a client and the main engine will be MS Access with the .mdb on their server - they run SBS2003. There is one admin PC with MS Access on it so I have located the FE there. There are two other people who need to see live information but do not have Access on their...

    Going slightly bonkers

Hi Wazz Thanks but if I do that it puts the vbCrLf in square brackets and wants to treat it as a field. When I open the report it looks for the paprameter value for vbCrLf So, not quite there yet! Best wishes

    Going slightly bonkers

Hi I am trying to format a report so that a text box's contents sit "nicely". I am using =IIf(IsNull([txt2]),"",[DoseDescr2] & " vbCrLf " & [strDoseHow]) This puts entry nicely on the two lines but the text also shows the letters vbCrLf in the textbox within the report. I thought they would be...

    Streaming MyPictures to plasma tv

OK, first of all it is not my idea, but a client wants to stream their My Pictures folder as a slide show onto a plasma tv screen that is to be located in a different room from the home office based PC. Two suggestions I have been given are to get a plasma screen with a USB socket and then copy...

    Round Up

Hi Jeff This will round up to the nearest half (Int([MyField]*-2))/-2 so I guess, and you had best try it since I might be talking cobblers, the following would round up to the nearest quarter (Int([MyField]*-4))/-4 At least it might be worth trying but the more I look at it the more I am...

Appending multiple records to grand child table

Hi Russ Thanks for the kind words, but hey man I haven't done it for you .. I have provided you with a map and a guide book that you can follow. You now need to use that to make it work as you need for you application and make the data sing to you There is still a good way to go but when you...

Appending multiple records to grand child table

Hi Russ I have renamed the mdb file so you do not lose your stuff. Get what you mean about multiple checking. There may be better ways to do it but this seems to work and I have commented code so you should be able to follow. I added a field to tblAssets called bTest (check out naming...

Appending multiple records to grand child table

Have you set up the form as continuous? If going the temporary table I always name mine tblTmpWhatever so I can easily see it is temporary. You need to remember to run a delete query before appending if you are using "fixed" temporary tables like this

Appending multiple records to grand child table

Hi Russ SOunds like you need to create a form with a combo box on to select the building. Then display all the assets in that building (query based on tblAssets where buildingId = combo value. If you do this as a continuous form and also add a checkbox that would let you identify the assets that...

    Hating ACC2007

OK Sorry I have misrepresented. The references were there but they were not checked by default. The DAO references were checked by default - or at least I didn't check them! That is what made me think they are expecting DAO rather than ADO to be used.
