There is nothing wrong with the sound card It played a sound when the email notification of your message came through and I have just play a tune I'm lost really as to what it could be - I will try a quick ofice repair just in case !

hmmmm we ll that did nothing although it seems to be my whole office package as If I created a docuement in word and click close normally you get a beep to ask if you want to save it but I get nothing I will dig deeper

Thanks David, Actually juast looking at the very same bit in the options area on access - mine is un-checked but I have never been to this bit before so seems very stange I will checked it and see what happens !

Thanks for the tip Dave - this has been sorted now with the earlier posts - the option button hide, ect is not really applicable to this as the user could put information in both fields if they had it. I just needed to insue information was entered into at least 1 field as a minimum. Thanks...

Update .. I have re-created the form and it all seems to be working fine. I did remove the "Disposal" control which was related to another table and used a value list instead which does the same job with less complications ! I still don't know what actually caused the original problem but all...

I have a funny feeling that may be the field that is causing the problem because it was one of the last fields entered. It is related to the table in the relationships 1 to many I will re-do the form again and keep my fingers crossed ! thanks

I have just added one of the "problem forms" control's to another form that is working - and it won't let me add any data to it on this for either - not sure if that helps as a clue?
