    Loop through Query

Any idea's for this one? I have a part table summary with various quantities 1-1000 and want to create a new table where part number repeats with quantity of 1 corresponding back to the sum. If part 123456=20 then this would repeat 20 x and each record Qty=1 Start with summary...

Listbox value changes in Print Preview

Hi All - I've created a simple listbox on a report in MS Access 2010 so that there are two options A or B. Default is option A and I am able to change that to option B when in Report View, but if I switch to Print Preview, the report is refreshed and value defaults back to A. I have done...

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

Yes sir. That appears to work. Thanks:)

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

I normally do VBA behind form buttons and completly forgot about creating a module and pointing the query back to new function. Anyhow this is a cool trick above. Thx

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

That worked after it went into debug on this line: IsMyPattern = Not REMatches(0) Is Nothing I had to end 100x. Close tho.

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

    That's cool. I'll try a custom function. Thx!:D

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

This works at about 95%: Like "??-*" Almost everything I'm trying to pick up has a dash in the 3rd spot. It's funny how the dash is seen as literal here, but in the BETWEEN it is not.

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

Ok - Got it :) There are records returned now, but I get some items not required "0100-0003" Thx

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

Here it is: SELECT dat_item_master.[3rd Item Number] FROM dat_item_master GROUP BY dat_item_master.[3rd Item Number] HAVING ((Left([3rd Item Number],2) Like "[A-Z]")); It looks like you are back into VBA. I'd prefer not to do that in this case.

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

Thx but unfortunatly there is no result: Left([3rd Item Number],2) Like "[A-Z]" Just as a test, this works: Left([3rd Item Number],2)="PE" Yes first two places in the string containing "AA" through "ZZ". Third place containing "-". Thx

    Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*"

Well - It almost works, but the dash is not recognized. I would like it to be a literal interpretation. Current result appears to ignore the dash "-" altogether? Between "AA-*" And "ZZ-*" Between "AA[-]*" And "ZZ[-]*" I thought that would do the trick, but no such luck. I just need...

concatenate fields in access report = #Type!

Both fields are formatted as text in a linked view and that does not appear to change along the way to the report. I ended up combining the two fields within the header query that feeds into the report which solves the problem. I agree formatting is most likely the issue, but I don't see where...

concatenate fields in access report = #Type!

I have two address fields that I want to tack together due to space contraints. =([add1] & " " & [add2]) Seems to work in a query but not report? I've tried a few other ways but no luck. Any feedback would be appriciated. :banghead: Thx

    InStr function to split column

Hi - Trying to split this up through Access 2010 query. Example: "COMPANY FF - DAVE GROHL" String lenth is variable and delimiter is "-". I have this working for one side. CONTACT: Trim(IIf([SCOMPANY] Like "*-*",Right([scompany],Len([scompany])-InStr(1,[SCOMPANY],"-")),".")) Can not get...

Issue with Linked Views in MS Access

cool, thanks for the feedback.. So the record count in the select query is 5, and this does not change when grouped so I don't really need to group it. I just noticed the data was incorrect unless using Totals: Group By. Never saw anything like this before. Unfortunatley I can't reduce the...

Issue with Linked Views in MS Access

Hi All - I was wondering if anyonce else has encountered this issue. I have a Basic select query returning results that change when I turn on totals, so all columns have a Group By. The actual data is very different which is puzzling. Quanties change, but there is no SUM applied, dates...

    Hey Everyone!

I'm new here 04/18/2012.:D I have been using MS Access since 1998. There a many people who like to look down on Access due to the fact it is considered a personal soultion vs. an enterprise solution. I think they are too quick to dismiss a very powerful tool! I learned from an old timer who...
