Issue with Linked Views in MS Access

Hi All -

I was wondering if anyonce else has encountered this issue.

I have a Basic select query returning results that change when I turn
on totals, so all columns have a Group By. The actual data is very different which is puzzling. Quanties change, but there is no SUM applied, dates
change etc. The grouped result matches SQL server, ungrouped it is
incorrect.

I can only guess that Access is having trouble handling
1.5 million records.

Yeah, with 1.5 million records access won't pull all the records into the datasheet at first.

If you click on the move last button ( >| ) then it should hourglass for a while and then show all the records.

If this is running on a SQL Server table then do the query on the server (as a stored procedure or view there). Don't pull all 1.5 million records to the local machine and get it to do the grouping.

cool, thanks for the feedback..

So the record count in the select query is 5, and this does not change when grouped so I don't really need to group it. I just noticed the data
was incorrect unless using Totals: Group By. Never saw anything like this
before.

Unfortunatley I can't reduce the view since it's being used for many different reports.
