Report - sort within a formula?

Hello Lilly, Herewith one way of doing it. In the query which generates the month from the reviewer date you also generate a field which is the year from the reviewer date. Then link on the year as well as the month and the link field. In the report add a RepYr header and possibly footer -...

Well done - if the system displays the data in the way you want to have it display then it will be acceptable. Programming elegance matters when performance and maintenance are an issue. Ian

best way to use results in a report

This now sounds as if you want conditional formatting. Selet the output field in design mode, go to format; Conditional formatting; New rule; select field value equal to; 1; define colour; save; create a new rule for 2 etc. Ian

Report - sort within a formula?

Yes, you could run the query without actually linking the tables but if it ever has more than one field you will end up with No of records = original records * fields in second table. Access just provides all possible records. Nightmare. Let me know if you need anything else. Ian

    Embedded reports

Hi JHB, Yes I had hoped that I could see what is happening but I am still stuck. I think I have done all you have said and it didn't work on the original database - but I have narrowed it down to the CLPresentBook report. So I went back to the dummy database which you sentback to me - where it...

    Report Problem

The term 'Expr1:' is normally the field name created by Access when an underlying query doesn't have the source data for a particular field that did exist when it was first created - if that makes sense? Ian

Hi JHB, I'm not sure why the error is not there all the time - when I try to run it again here the same error message does not appear either - however the reports do not display as I want them to. I have created an image called Mockup.jpg showing what I would like to see. Does this help? Thank...

Can you post the source table structure and possibly a couple of lines of data together with the current query you are using to extract the data for the report - if you are using a query?? Ian

Relevant record entries into report and email

It sounds like the process would be to run a query to pick up the data from the form and then creating a table which can be attached to an email or simply embed the data at that point. Is it the creating a query or attaching the data which is the problem? Ian

Is there a possibility you can do the calculation of the percentage for all the reviewers outside the report and then provide it to the report as part of the source data? Ian

    Embedded reports

Hi, I have created two reports, both with charts, which both work. One of them is based on a union query. When I insert one report within the other the system complains that my uniou query does not have the same number of fields - yet when I run the reprt alone it works fine. Can anyone help? Ian
