    DSUM in Query

Arnelgp, I actually do have dates in another report(Inventory dates and date/time the serial number/BOM passes through a station in the production line). I am developing this report for when we export our product. We have to reduce the quantity of material that our software says we have in the...

    DSUM in Query

Thanks for all the help, I will try adding a autonumber field. I am sorry about my data, I was trying to simplify. Yes the desc field is as you show, but it is a text field. Balance 1 2 I thought having the Balance as "Level" 1 and the Serial numbers as "Level" 2 would take care of that...

    Query to Transform Data

If I understand your question: I do not know how to use crosstab queries so this is probably not the most efficient way. I would build a table with Distinct Date&Trainee combined, along with the fields: Date, Trainee, DesignCode1, DesignCode2 ,DesignCode3, etc. Then I would do an update query...

    DSUM in Query

Hmmm, I do have it as [Desc]<='", It seems it is doing the sort as Serial1, Serial2, Balance. I want Balance, Serial1 and Serial2. I changed it to >= to see what I got - it sorted Balance, Serial2, Serial1 Do you think it matters that Balance is text and the Serial numbers are numeric?

    DSUM in Query

Thanks for the quick responses, there is progress! Got some results, not quite right yet though. Looks like it is not doing the totaling in the correct order. I want to start with the inventory balance, that is why I put the levels in there, and then reduce that balance by each Serial #s...

    DSUM in Query

I want a running total in a query. I have used a DSUM in the past but needed help with that one also. I have looked at several threads, copied and pasted and still can't get this DSUM to work. This is what the query looks like: SELECT InfoTable.InvID, InfoTable.Level, InfoTable.Desc...

    Creating a CSV file

Yes, I see that now. I was using excel to open the CSV file and it made it appear to be a 0 instead of 000. The error must be something else. Thanks for taking the time to show me that.

    Creating a CSV file

I am trying to create a CSV file using the ImportExportText / Export Delimited. Everything is working except the fields that are text in the table that resemble numbers are exported as numbers (000 exported as 0 or 067 exported as 67). These are GL SubAccount fields and when I import the CSV...

    Esport an Excel File

ranman, Funny thing, I could not get this to work using a macro, but when I used the convert macro to visual basic I cut and pasted that code and it worked. Thanks for your help, I wouldn't have kept searching if it wasn't for your reply.

    Esport an Excel File

Thank you for your reply. I have used Access many years and for many things but have always got by just using queries and macros. Probably what separates me from the experts. I am sorry but I may need this help step by step. The code you sent me: do I need to paste this into an event...

    Esport an Excel File

I am trying to use a macro using ExportWithFormatting to export a Table to an excel file. I would like the file name to be a field in another table. This field is also in a form that is open if that is preferable. There are many threads here and elsewhere and it seems this can't be...

    Access delay

We are running Office Professional 2016 on a server that is not connected to the internet. When I click on the Access program, for 8-10 seconds it appears it is trying to connect to the internet "Getting featured templates..." Once that is over I can click on a database and it opens within...

    DSUM to create Running Sum

pbaldy, As I posted, your fix did work. The only thing I just noticed was that it returned the running sum as a text field. My workaround was to create another field and divide the running sum by 1. This seems to work, but just wondering if there was another way to handle this.

    DSUM to create Running Sum

Looks like that is similar to what I am doing. The statement I used was from another site. Can someone tell me if this statement is wrong.

Thanks for the quick response, I thought I had some syntax wrong. Looks like I wasn't even close.

    DSUM to create Running Sum

I am trying to create a running total in a query. I googled and found something using DSUM, it appeared to be what I wanted but I only get #Error in the field, not running totals. I want to have a running total for each InvtID that resets on each new InvtID. The InvTranQuery totals by InvtID...

    Inventory Balance Query

I would like a report showing CBH7389 was negative on 8/8 1 CBH7397 was negative on 8/8 3 CBH7501 was negative on 8/8 1 CBH7503 was negative on 8/8 1 CDH3113 was negative on 8/8 3 This is not a good representation because they all show going negative on 8/8, some would generally go...
