    Question Different db format issues

That's OK. I got a computer tech to come over to see what was going on with some of the issues I was having - no menu bar, losing the frame on the db window etc etc, default version as Access 2000 even though Access 2000 wasn't loaded. It turns something (actually many things) in the registry...

    Question Different db format issues

Thanks for that. I now have =DatePart("yyyy",[TDate]) The first date in the table is 01-Jan-2008, the date that shows in the form is 19-Jun-1905. I am using English - United States regional settings, but that shouldn't change the value - it might change the format, but not the value...

    Question Different db format issues

OK This goes back to another issue I had with the tool bar menu. I think I will have take this notebook into to someone locally to see if they can clear it up. I think I am missing an item on the Toolbars Menu, because I can't seem to get the Tools dropdown list to appear. I was hoping...

    Question Different db format issues

I am using Office/Access 2003 and Windows XP with service pack 3 etc downloaded. If I open an Access 2003 db it opens in Access 2000 format. When I create a new db it is in Access 2000 format. How can I set the default format to Access 2003? I have even unloaded Office/Access 2003 and loaded...

Unable to add new records to linked table

Thanks for looking. No the table names haven't changed. I did find out the user wasn't entering data in the form correctly. That problem has been resolved :) I am still curious as to why the related tables don't show up as related in the be. The relationships show up correctly in the...

Unable to add new records to linked table

I am using Access 2003. I used the database splitter wizard to split the db. I have the backend on a server and the frontend on three other users' computers. The problem right now is that they can't add any new records using forms (which are based on queries). When I look at the tables on the...

Useful sites - what to do with a corrupt database

I was plowing around some of the sites that Bob Larson posted a while back and came across this check list on what to do with a corrupt database. All of these items have no doubt appeared in this forum in one format or another, but it is useful to have the steps organized like this...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

In case this happens to someone else: I finally took the problem to our IT staff (they're usually only interested in network issues - not software issues). After several hours of trying to recover the MENUBAR option they unloaded and reloaded Office. Somehow there was a setting change that...

US Daylight Savings Time Ends 4 Nov 2007

Actually that's what England did during WWII - I think they called it "double time". For countries close to the equator it's not an issue, but as you get further north - like we Canucks - you end up with children coming home in the dark after school on standard time. Never a good thing. Then...

US Daylight Savings Time Ends 4 Nov 2007

For the really curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time and on Indiana: http://www.mccsc.edu/time.html And the reason the weekend changed was that someone told W it would save energy. I think Indiana is using daylight savings time now. Benjamin Franklin first proposed the...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

I don't have MENUBAR on the Toolbars list. I have even tried opening ALL the toolbars. I have checked with our IT people. They're willing to unload and reload Access to see if that clears the problem. Are there any issues that might crop up during this process that I need to be aware of?

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

Under Menu Bar: I have (default) and Allow Full Menus checked and Allow Default Shortcut Menus checked Under Shortcut Menu Bar: I have (default) and Allow Built-in Toolbars checked and Allow Toolbar/Menu Changes checked However this issue extends to any Access db I try to open. Are there...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

Yes I have. I will have more time on the weekend to play with this. I have done some research on acToolbarWhereApprop and found this: http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=codearchive&Number=127476&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 I will see if that helps.

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

OK - this explains how to fix the problem for queries in this db. The same issue extends to forms and reports so I can add the same code. How do I fix the problem for tables and the database window? Can they be controlled in the same way? The problem seems to be more generic though - since it...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

Apparently this is not a new issue restricted to me: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarchives/accessformscoding/jul2005/post23549526.asp This example refers only to the problem on maximized forms. My problem extends to queries and tables as well (I have attached a more explicit example). I...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

I am sorry if the pictures weren't explicit enough. I found that usually pictures make it a lot easier to explain what's going on. Perhaps I should have said I had done a "compact and repair" as well as import the db objects into a new db in the original post. I did not intend for my comments...

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

Notice that the Maximize/minimize/close buttons do not show up on any db objects, except for the MAIN Access Window Frame I have done that. And that. I also just read gemma-the-husky's reply - the clue is I was playing around with menubars so I must've deleted it. Oops.

    Question Maximize/Minimize Issue

This is a little bizarre. I am using Access 2003. If I maximize any window, the max/min/close buttons disappear on all objects. (see examples). The only way I can stop this behaviour is to close the database. This is occuring in all databases. What might have happened and how can I fix this?

    Question Networking Issues

Re Canadian Government - I misspoke myself - anything NEW comes to a screeching halt. There is a mad frenzy to complete in progress stuff. This comes under NEW since it hasn't been installed. Actually changing permissions is fairly simple. All it needs is the manager's approval. You have...
