Does anyone know how I can customise whether various fields are saved eg. If IsNull(x) then (Save the Certificate number in the field in to another table not listed not featured in the form query) Else (Perform a normal save) Cheers Matt

Wouldn't it be easier to do aq confirmation msgbox that says are you sure you wish to copy these records into ....... If he/she then copies the wrong record(s) then they are just being stupid

I think the lines that you are talking about are just guidelines for design purposes. If you want lines to feature on the report I suggest you draw them in using the tools provided. Yours Matt PS Sorry if this seems like a stupid answer but I am used to people who ask very basic questions.
