Access 2003 SP3 hotfix Discovered this is a documented issue with SP3. There's a hotfix available (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945674) which I'll need to get our network administrator to take care of..... I'm new to this forum, and still trying to negotiate its features....

Recently, when I compact/repair my Access 2000/2003 databases, I end up with a generic db1.mdb file in the same folder as the original database. This db1 is smaller than the source file, suggesting it is the compacted file. After compacting, this db1 remains instead of automatically going away...
