    Invisible Labels on Reports

Somebody please shoot me. I thought Access was making me insane...when it was really me all along. I use the "Text Box" tool instead of the "Label" and then I copy/pasted it. Sorry ladies and gentlemen if you use your valuable time to help find the solution. Hopefully, everyone will have a...

    Invisible Labels on Reports

Thanks JohnLee for your response. The properties states it's visible. However, I think I know what the issue is. The labels that aren't visible are the same labels (Policy#:). When I right click the warning message, the top option states "Invalid Control Property: Control Source". I...

Calculating Total on Fields with NO data

Normalizing the Dependents table I know, I know...about the normalization part. I still have the old dependents table where I put only the records that have dependents but the report didn't generate all the dependents on one page. If you could tell me how to do that, that would be super. A...

Calculating Total on Fields with NO data

Well, I'm glad I made you laugh...even though I wasn't trying to be funny. ha! When I always think I'm done with the report, I'm not...again. (I know; I don't sound optimistic right now) I was about to tell my boss that the report is completed UNTIL an employee told me she got married and...

Calculating Total on Fields with NO data

I don't know the difference between group and report footer. I created my TOTAL formula on report. I used the fields from the reports in my formula. When you mentioned footer, I was thinking Page Header, Detail, etc. Well, it's under Detail if that is helpful. I appreciate your help.

Calculating Total on Fields with NO data

Thanks for the tip on the formula. I finally got a dollar value instead of nothing BUT it sum all the records instead of per record (per employee). I looked into properties to see if there is something I can click on to sum the total per record but found nothing. Do you have any suggestions...

Calculating Total on Fields with NO data

Hi, My Access instructor said my calculation was straight forward and that I may need to add visual basic coding to initialize the fields (or better word: record) that do not have data. She doesn't know how to do that so she directed me to this website. Do any of you know how to do visual...

    Referential Integrity

ha ha! Sorry about scaring you. You reminded me that the reason I received an error message was probably due to the fact there were missing record (blank value). The error message I received earlier when I tried to put all the tables in 1 query was: "Subscript out of range" Heck, I didn't...

    Referential Integrity

Thanks Banana! Actually, I figured out why access didn't set it as one-to-many because there again was a missing record in the other table (blank value). But now I'm onto the queries and another problem occur. I have 4 queries and they all look fine. But then I decided to query of 4...

    Referential Integrity

Sorry for the late reply. To answer boblarson's question, I wish I could post the database but I cannot. It contains confidential information. I got good news though. I figured out the problem. I just query the two tables together and find a blank value so I deleted that one record to...

    Referential Integrity

I think we're not on the same page here. I am not linking two identical tables together. I'm linking two identical fields together to create the relationship between two tables because that is the only way to build a relationship between two tables. I need to be able to create that...

Exporting data from .xls to .mdb

Access is SENSITIVE Actually, I figured it out before I read your message. Previously, I had 75 columns of data but I broke the worksheet into several worksheets to match the tables I have created in a database. Apparently, access recognizes that there used to be data in the excel spreadsheet...
