Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

Good Morning Good People: I am happy to inform you that I have solved my Access Database problems - for the time being. I was able to add a new record (Teacher) via the "All Data Objects" and clicking on the record or Form pertaining to what I wanted to accomplish. Thanks for your help Bob...

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

I split the data base with the Front End residing on my Desktop, and the Back End on my Server. So there will be two parts. I may have a copy of the total data base before I made the split. How should me do this?

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

Bob Larson (Sorry for the mix up): If I up load my DB (which is 93mb), it may contain certain sensitive data on students that I cannot or do not want to get out. So I may have to get some type of OK from the Administrators. I need to safegard myself. I am an outside Consultant, specializing...

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

While in design view, I followed Bob Lawson's last Post, and took out the (equal) sign in the Combo Box 32, and in its corresponding Expression Builder, where the Source stated =Teacher. But it is not permanently removed because, when I close out of Design View and go into Form View, It's...

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

Hi: This is for Bob Lawson, whom I was working with on 11/19/09, or for anyone who can tell me how to enter a new teacher's name. Bob, you indicated the following: 1. "Change the control source from =Teacher to simply Teacher." 2. "It is the ROW SOURCE of the combo box that pulls the teacher...

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

Bob Larson: I do not know where the table is located that pulls the teacher's names. I have not been able to locate it. I am not the designer. I can only click on the buttons, and view their details.

Here is the first Form that I start out with in the Data base. See attached.

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

You are correct about the source, however, that is how the designer set it up, so that when you click on the name school, the objects or fields have individual teacher's names in them-that is how we assign a student to his home room teacher. This method has worked in the past because we have...

Here's the zip file Bob: It said it uploaded it at 64kb, but i do not see it attached anywhere-and I got no errors.

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

When I upload the file as an attachment, I get an invalid file error (docx) which is an Office 2007 doc file. I guess this means I cannot upload MS Office 2007 files-makes no sense to me.

My compression size is 382,000 which is still over the 100kb limitation. The original size is 406kb. So there is no way that I can send itas an attachment. But I will break it up into four parts an attach. I added the first attachment but I do not see it.

Adding, or changing a record with an Input Form.

I have this 2003 Access database set up by a person who left. I now want to be able to make a change to the Input Form to allow for new teachers’ names. But I cannot add a new teacher to this database. I need to be able to assign a teacher to a student when I start to input their...

Access 2003: cannot delete a record

Right after I made the last post, I went to the help menu and found out how to access the "form selector," and looked in the properties, and "Allow Deletions" and "Allow Edits" both had yes next to them - but I am still unable to delete. So, that was never the probllem. I am going to try to...

Access 2003: cannot delete a record

Yes, I am trying to delete a record from a form. I am in the DRP Student Data: Form, and I am not sure if I am following you. With the DRP input form open in design view (Combo 142), I can click on the "File" and then click on Database properties, but there is no "Allow Deletions" visible. I...

Access 2003: cannot delete a record

I have tried to turn off the Referential Integrity in my Access 2003 database, but to no avail. I printed out instructions from an Access 2003 MS paper, but I cannot follow it. It starts by directing me to the "toolbar," and having me click on "Relationships" button. Once the window is open...

Access 2003: cannot delete a record

Thanks, Dr. problem Solver. One question through! How do you-or what are the steps-to turn off, what you refer to as, "Referential Integrity?" And, how do I go about see what is turned on, as you suggested? And, I just read that you could create a "Delete Query" to delete records. Know...

Access 2003: cannot delete a record

jcraw42 here: I posted the original post. In answer to your question 1) I am not sure about the relationship. It is a form in Student Demographic Listing, and yes it is linked to other forms and records. But I am talking about: "student name, address, city, state, zip, ID#, race, age, grade...
