Hi All,

I am not quite sure if what I want to do is possible or not but maybe you all can give me a hand.

I have a linked table to an excel spreadsheet. The excel spreadsheet has live DDE links to an controller for a peice of equipment. This spreadsheet records the units that are dumped throughout the production day.

What I want to do, is for access to copy the linked data to a local table, so another peice of software will print the barcode label. The reason I need to do this is because of the limitations of the software with ODBC. I need this to be done automatically. Once the unit is dumped, it logs in excel. Is there a way I can do this in access?

Thanks

There should be a way to do this but once you copy the linked spreadsheet to a table it becomes a snapshot of the live link so how is it going to detect when something changes in the spreadsheet?

Well thats the issue.

I need to either snapshot at a set time interval. Or come up with a way for excel to write to table. I am pretty open to all options at the moment.
