 I am trying to get my 1099-s to print from an access report. I have preprinted forms. There are 3 forms on a 8 1/2 X 11 page. The data prints properly on the 1st form, however by the 3rd form the data does not print on the form correctly. If I add more space it wants to print out on 2 pages. Any ideas?

Thanks for the idea. It looks like it would work great on a lot of the forms. The way I understand it the 1099 forms have to use the printed forms, that a copy is not valid.

The form 1099 has to be scannable by the IRS or you will incur penalties.

So I've been thinking of a solution. What if you use Mike Alexander's video as a means to align your fields to fit on a form to be printed. Arrange your fields using the pdf and then send the pdf back behind your current report. Will that work. If not, then perhaps after setting your fields based upon the pdf, delete the pdf. Just some thoughts--not necessarily a known solution.

I want 3 different records to print on one page, I am trying to set it up like I would labels. I currently have my top and bottom margin set to .25" and the page set to 3.5". See the attached screen shot. So I don't think scanning in an image will work.

Another thought as I think your issue is one of alignment and will only be solved with trial and error.

Have you thought of exporting your data to WORD or doing a mail merge in WORD from Access. It may be easier to set your print parameters. Just a thought.

I don't have a solution for you except trial and error on the printing side. Good Luck.:)

One last thought. Have you searched the IRS website for any instructions on printing to their forms. Suggested fonts? Suggested Margins? etc.

I will try the mail merge in word. I have tried any margin / spacing in access that I can think of and it does seem to work. Thanks for your help.

I went into labels and created a custom label to match the dimension of my 1099 form. I got it to work in access. Thanks again for you ideas.
