2 column report with a line

Hi ppl..
i have created a report with 2 columns and i would like to insert a line between them..how do i go about doing it??

You can draw a vertical line on your report. You will have to draw it in each section of your report and ensure that it it exactly from the top to the bottom of each section (otherwise your line will appear to have gaps).

hi there...thanks fer ur reply..
i tried wat u suggested..but the problem is that my field length in the design view is variable and the text goes on depending on its length..
so cant set the line height which is a constant..where as my text box can expand height wise..
so it doesnt work dude..

Ok another way is to play around with the LINE method in Vba (rather than drawing the line yourself)

The following will draw a line starting at coordinates 160,0 and extending to the bottom of the detail section. So if the size of the detail section grows, the line will also grow.

Me.Line (160, 0)-Step(0, Me.Section(acDetail).Parent.Height)

You need to place this code in the OnPrint event of the detail section of the report. Obviously change the 160 to the point where you want the line to occur.

hey man..i gave tat event but i end up getting 4 vertical lines on the page because i have divided the page into 2 columns...by changing the page properties buddy...
so i get first a continuous line...after first column i end up getting 2 vertical lines and finally after the second column ends i get another broken line..
jus try it n c..

Hi Sicat,

I had no problem with the line as I haven't got columns - sorry can't help you there.

However, the line thickness is easy. Add the follwing line of code to set the width in pixels. From the help article, it seems you can get really fancy with this, but for a fatter line just:

DrawWidth = 8

i need five vertical lines - the outer 2 to be thicker than the inner 3.

First, which number/variant do i change to move the lines over?

and i don't understand what is making the thickness change?
