2001/001 index

Hi All
I'm a naive Access user, and I'm trying to implement an index system (not autonumber!) for a journal database where a form provides the number of papers in that year (eg, 2001/001, 2001/002, 2002/001). There are two fields (year and sequential number), how can Access calculate the sequential number of a new record?
