3035: Not enough system ressources

On opening a report under Access 2010, 64 Bit I get the message 3035: Not enough system ressources. Under Access 2007 and Access 2010, 32 Bit everything works fine.
Does soemone have any idea / some experience with that?

Check and see if the printer has a driver compatible with 64 bit.

This is caused by running out of available virtual memory (VM) aka swap disk. A 32 bit app cannot use more than 2gb and for some reason Access uses a lot of VM and when it needs more and cannot get any then you run out of system resources.

Solution is to make sure your VM is at least 4 times the RAM and to restart your PC at least daily, only this clears out the VM from garbage left lying around from other apps.

You will never have had this issue on a 32 bit OS, its only now with 64 bit OS that this happens.

TBA, it is not ALWAYS the memory-in-swap-file resource that gets you. There are other resources. Please do not offer this advice without considering the possibility of other issues such as file resources, graphic resources, and a few other possible "gotcha" cases.

Gerhard, look up "Windows Resources" via your favorite search engine and see if you can get some help on using the Task Manager's Resource Manager option. That would tell you which resource was being exhausted. TBA can INDEED be right, but it really might be something else.

Well thanks,, Access + graphics resources..? I think not. As far as file resources go it has a minimal file useage as it uses an sql back-end.

Latest theory is that the number of linked tables and the potential data size they represent could be significant..we have several users some of whom get this all the time whilst others never so I think this has something to do with their individual data requirements in the swap file.

We only use linked tables so as to able to edit in an access grid otherwise a normal passthru query based on a stored procedure will do. Therefore we are going to try to replace as many linked tables as possible with dynamic passthru queries
