Hi all,

I have something that I'm not sure how to create on a form. I have an in-house database that I work with where we input some job information. on this job form, I'd like for the user to be able to draw a picture (almost like having a paint object on the form). we do something in order for the guy to draw directions on the screen because we do work where there are no roads or anything yet so maps are of no use.

Not sure if there is any way possible but I'd love to know!

thanks!

kinda but not really. I found the Microsoft inkpicture thing which will allow me to draw, etc. but I don't know how to save what is drawn to a file...

Probably the easiest way is to save a screen capture rather than saving the drawing directly. You can either use the snipping tool or one of the available products out there (I use Screenhunter) or use vba to 'take the shot'. I'm sure if you look through Stephens website, you find code to save the file.

If you want to use vba to screen capture, here is a link to get you started

note that client area can be defined as a subform or a control

It's possible to link Access to MS Visio - I've got some code if you're interested in pursuing this option. Very easy to produce professional looking drawings particularly if it's quite intricate.
