Access 2000 file format in Access 2003?

I just loaded Access 2003 and started to create a new database... the new data base title is test (which is correct) then in paraentheses (Access 2000 file format). What's up with that???
I am running windows XP version 2002 service pack 1.

Seeing as A2000 is pretty much still seen as the standard/major version of Access, it'll probably be the same as A2002 when you start a database - it defaults to A2000.

Having never seen A2003, I'll hazard a guess as to where to go to remedy this:

Goto Tools -> Options -> Advanced Tab

Change the default Database type.
