Access 2002 and Word 2002 Mail Merge

I am having trouble merging an access query with a word document. I am aware of the problem with Word reading query criteria "*" and "?", but has anyone heard of a problem using "null" as a query criteria? In the query, specific records with a "is not null" value in a field are appearing. However, after merging it with word, this field is empty. Any suggestions?

The problem you mentioned seems to affect queries with any kind of criteria including nulls etc. Have you tried the fix (in Word)Tools>Options>General>Check box confirm conversions on open. Then, when you select datasource it will give you an option of how to access datasource from which you select 'using DDE link'
This now opens all my queries no matter what criteria I have in them
