Hi there

As the title suggests... Is an Access "2003" .adp project compatable with SQL Server 2005. When I try to invoke query builder for the recordsource on a form, for example, I'm getting a dialog saying:

"This Version of MS Access doesn't support design changes with the version of SQL Server your Access project is connected to. See the MS update web site......"

Then it will take me to the Query builder.

Would I be better to just use an ODBC connection and link the SQL Server 2005 tables to an .mdb file and develop the FE like that or should I stick with the Project?

Also, is their any other problems that I might experience with Access 2003 and SQL Server 2005? Perhaps any updates I may need? and is it worth my time trying to bring together an app with these two Products?

Thanks in advance for any help, If any one knows of any articles or resources that would help I'd be very grateful to know what they are.

Thanks for any help

Hi,

From my experience Access 2003 is compatible with SQL Server 2005 for projects but you dont get the ability to modify the back end. I have read somewhere a patch is needed for this which Microsoft will not be releasing. I have upgraded to Office 2007 for this reason.

Hope this helps.:)
