When closing a newly created table, form or query get the message ' Access has stopped working' and it then closes and reopens....no data or changes are lost. Have tried Access 2007 on XP and Vista (on two different computers, have all updates, but still occuring. To this point in the development of the Db there is little to no VB coding and no macros. There is no data in the tables as yet. I have re-install the program and tried to isolate the problem by delete a table/form/query that corresponds to a 'crash' but cannot seem to find a common thread. Any suggestions

Was this created in Access 2007 or from a different version?

I use 2002 at work but the problem is with 2007 at home. The 2007 program that crashes is using data created in 2007.

Wow...lack of information here.
1) Does your Access 2007 work with other databases?
2) Is this the only database that fails with Access 2007?
3) Have you tried a Compress and Repair?
4) Is the a FE/BE environment, or just a straight accdb?
5) How are you trying to save this databae...what database type accdb, mdb mde, accde?
6) Have you checked the Access Options Trust Center? You may be getting kicked due to a Trust Center violation.
This list can go on and on....

I downloaded the template Northwind 2007 as a quit and dirt way to see if it crashes with another Db...after downloading and Access 2007 open - I click on 'create' (where Northwind is listed as an option)-- it starts to load and then crashes and closes. I tried this with several other templates offered (Issue Tracker, others) and they all respond the same way.

With ref. to my Db - previously I have tried compress and repair, it is a mdb, have checked access options trust centre. I haven't stepped through a process as yet but crashes don't seem to happen on a code driven function I have written in the program.

I know the list can go on and on -- I've been traveling this bumpy road and am ready to order that calming tea that Mac advertises MS selling:(. At this point I have been working a couple of hours a night trying to find an answer.

When Vista has come up with results of 'tech scan' there are no conflicts or suggestions.

On the machine with A2007 on it .... is there another version of Access on it? ... if so do you WAIT till the Installation stuff is complete when switch between versions? ... if you DO NOT have two versions of Access on that PC, then I suggest to UN-Install Office 2007, and Re-install it, then apply the SP updates ...

My memory is foggy with old age, but if I remember correctly, I searched the Microsoft Support and found a patch that is not part of the Office Updates when I had a similar problem on one of my Vista machines. Like I said...foggy and probably wrong but it wouldn't hurt to search Microsoft Support.

I will scout around the web and see what I can find-- thanks
