I have an Access 2007 db with about 10 linked tables. When I work with this database at design time, it is extremely slow - for example, when I click the save button, it takes approx 10 seconds for the save to complete, even when nothing has changed.
If I remove the linked tables, and then compact the database, the speed increases dramatically.
I searched and found the KB about Subdatasheet = Auto of the table property and I have already set it to "none" for all of the linked tables. But this made no difference.
The only other thing I have thought of is increasing the amount of memory in the local machine from 1 gig to 2 gigs. The processor is a 2.4 gigahertz, so that seems fast enough.
Access 97 runs just fine on this machine.
Anyone have any other ideas?
