Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anybody knows why I can't use the enter key to bring up records on a form. I'm using a combo box, and it works just fine in previous access versions, but it won't in this version. Can anybody help? Thanks!

In order to use a combobox to retrieve records, the code behind the combobox AfterUpdate event has to fire, and code does not run in 2007 unless your database resides in a folder that has been declared a “trusted” location.

To trust your folder, click on

  1. Office Button (top left)
  2. Access Options (bottom of dialog)
  3. Trust Center (left)
  4. Trust Center Settings (button)
  5. Trusted Locations (left)
  6. Add new location (button)

You are godlike! Thank you, that did the job. I would never have thought about the trusted location thing. I can see that I have my work cut out for me. Thanks, again!

Jeff

Access 2007 is a different creature and does take some getting used to! A developer who's been working with Access since the first version came out once estimated that the learning curve for 2007 is approximately 4 times as great for an experienced Access developer as it is for a novice, because so much has to be unlearned!
