Access 2007 Form error: “Too many fields define.”

Situation:
I built a monster form to work as the data entry page for 16 tables. The purpose was to make the data entry simple for the user. The form had 243 fields before I added the last two.


Cause:
I noticed that I was missing a couple of fields and added them on to the form.


Problem:
Shortly after wards I received an error message that says “Too many fields define.”
I removed six fields from the form, am still receiving the error message.


Questions:
1. How many fields can you add to a form?
2. How do fix the form and remove the error?

I think Pat has diagnosed your problem correctly in this post http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1207082#post1207082 and I would suggest you check your data normalization prior to fixing the mechanics. You can have 750 or so controls on a form during its lifetime (i.e. the total of currently existing and deleted controls), and a record can have 255 fields.
