Hi all,

What are all the gridlines and padding properties on a command button supposed to do? I've set a number of these and I don't see any effect on the button?

Regards
Melt

It is for when you have the controls all grouped together using ARRANGE tab > CONTROL LAYOUT > and either Tabular or Stacked.

DOn't run 2007, and this is apparently something new with this version, but you can pull up help for any control property by placing the cursor in the property's box, in the property pane, and then click on <F1>.

The concept of 'padding' in other languages has to do with the positioning of text within a 'cell' and I expect the use here is similar, within the confines of the command button. What have you tried using the properties? My guess is that anything entered would have to be in Twips rather than Inches, with 1440 Twips = 1 Inch. Entering 1 or 2 or so, thinking it was inches, would cause no appreciable change in the control's appearance.

Didn't see you there, Bob! Went to edit my answer and the Snaggle-Toothed/Bandy-Legged Bully Bitch came in and announced she had to go out! Didn't check the thread before re-posting! Got to get 2007 or 2010 one day, if only so that I can answer pertinent questions!

Missinglinq,

If you do get Access 2007/2010 Margin and Padding are html feaures although Bob has rightly, and many thanks, pointed out the a fully enabled web Access database is still on the oven. If necessary get 2007 and wait until the pudding is properly cooked rather than being half baked.

Sorry to hear about your domestic arrangements, sound's like she needs taming.

Simon
