I have been working hard to convert to Access 2007. One of the reasons for my conversion was to take advantage of the so-called, RTF functionality, touted by Microsoft as an ActiveX replacement for Access developers. I couldn't believe how much time I wasted when I tried to use the control programmitcally, only to discover it has no methods that allow a programmer to have any direct control over text formatting.
At first I thought I was just confused, which is normal, until I came across this very revealing thread posted by Neil.
I began this thread because I have spent several days researching the topic, but I have not been able to find much discussion on the issue. From my point of view, anyone needing 'Advanced' RTF capabilities should NOT consider upgrading to Access 2007 for this purpose. Stay with third-party controls that have allowed programmers to format text programmatically for years.
