I need to run an attendance database - created in Access 2003 - on a Vista Home Premium computer that has Office 2007 but lacks Access 2007. I downloaded Access 2007 runtime files to support the program on the new machine. That's where I ran into a problem.

The Access 2003 program works with the 2007 runtime files except that every record is protected and I can't turn protection off: all those functions are greyed out in the runtime version. The result is "Do you want to change record ________" (or words to that effect) for every new entry. Since each entry updates 5 records, there are 5 succesive prompts, and 5 pumps on the return button to clear them, for each entry. Very very annoying.

Is there a way to correct this (other than buying Access 2007 for this one machine)?
