Has anyone had this problem and/or know how to solve it?

When I try to create a report (by just clicking the Report button) Access seems to crash for a few minutes - I get the egg-timer and a white screen but after leaving it for a few minutes it comes up with my report. I have already created about 40 reports fine and suddenly it has started doing this.

My database is 45MB.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Its not crashing. It's just creating the report. How long does the query take that is filling the report in?

The Report is coming off a table which has one row of data on it. I have created about 40 the same way with the same amount of information and they worked fine. I did all 40 in the time it's taking me to do one now!

As an afterthought(other programs doing the same) it could be something wrong with my computer. I'm going to do a bit a troubleshooting and let you know.

Thanks for the help.

No, it's definitely just this Database. I think I've broken it! :(

I've recently changed the name of the folder that the Database and all of the data that has been imported is stored in - could this have caused a problem?

I know that sometimes if something is too complex it will cause it to happen. For your case though, if you are using only one table then im not sure what could be causing it. If the others still open up just fine, then maybe you should try creating a new report and trying again.

Yes it could if it is still trying to find the old location for some reason. Not using a linked table or anything are you?

I've just imported the data in from an Excel file, so I presume it's all saved within the Access file now.

I did get an error message when I opened up the database about it not being able to do something with data from the folder (as it didn't exist anymore). So assuming this is the problem, how do I now fix it (other than changing the file name back, as I have done).

PROBLEM SOLVED! (Sort Of)Re: Access 2007 temporarily crashing when creating a Report

Luckily, being in work, everything is backed up every night so I just rolled the Database back to the last time it was working and copied over all of the data I have done since - I was a bit worried that I might also copy over the 'bug' but *touch wood* all seems fine.

Thanks for your help though rainman, it's much appreciated! :D
