Access 2013 People,

Have any of you experience a situation where the command buttons are not displaying properly?

Here is a picture of a DB from Access 2010:

Notice the words and images are nice and centered in the buttons. The buttons are all the same size.

Now look at the same DB in Access 2013:

See how the buttons look bloated and the images and wording are not centered anymore. And working on it in design view is a nightmare! When you try to move the command button part of it is left behind every time to try to move it.

You can turn the themes property to "Off" but I like the themes. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is any solutions?

thanks
Glenn

Is the Use Windows-themed Controls on Forms set the same on the 2013 version as it is on the 2010 version?

Yes they are set the same. Not too sure what is going on :banghead:

I found that if you set the Themes to NO, the problem disappears, you might wanna try that. Mine is working great now :D

Yes remotesk that is a work around...but I like the themes and it just bugs me when something doesn't work like it should.

Sorry, but working 'like it should' and working like you want and/or expect it to, are not the same thing! If you want a database development program that works exactly as you want it to, 100% of the time, you'll have to sit down and write your own version of Access! Otherwise, you need to learn to work within the parameters that exist.

Oh come on...command buttons with themes are nothing new. They worked fine in Access 2010. Why don't they work fine in Access 2013? That is what I am asking. Surely this has happened to other people.

Well low and behold there is a problem and it isn't with Access...okay well not only Access. It has to do with Set custom text size (DPI) in Windows 7. I usually adjust mine to 150% to make things easier to read on my screen. Changed it back to 100% and now Access Command Buttons are being displayed properly and I didn't even have to write my own version of Access to do it.

Also "Working like it should" is all I ask the program to do. I didn't invent any thing new. You see there is an answer to the problem sometimes you just have to sit down and look for it.

I know that I haven't posted on this forum very often and I apologize for that...so maybe I am thought of as an Access newb, but believe me if I do post a question I have thoroughly searched for an answer before I post here.

Hi gbnz nice post, thanks a lot for the information and solution. I'll try it Kudos for you!

It worked perfectly, thanks for sharing the solution. Have a nice day

Has MS fixed this bug yet? It works fine in 2010 and now all my forms looked screwed up. This is a bug no question about it.
