Greetings,

I have two machines, a P3 600, and a P3 500 - both with the same versions of Windows XP installed, same updates, along with identical installations of MS Office 97 from the same CD.

MS Access works differently on the P3 500! Problems I encounter are:

-I cannot use the Date function!
-Suddenly Queries are of the nature that they don't allow record additions.
-I cannot enforce referential integrity in my relationships window.

Between the three.. the Database I need to run on this machine is rendered useless. I have tried reinstalling MS Office, no help.

Anyone got any advice? Perhaps there is some vital setting exterior to MS Office I am not aware of that effects its functioning?

I just feel like beating the hell out of my Computer when it does things like this... to me at least, completely inexplicable malfunctioning.

Argh! Hope to hear from you soon,
Hiero.

Thanks man, that HAS to be my problem, mixed up references..

That would explain the Date function not working..

I went in, and placed and registered a Reference that was missing - Namely MS Common Controls - MSCmnctl.oxc..

But, the problem with my unalterable Queries still exists. It means I can navigate to a new record in a record-set returned by any Query... the exact same database file on my other computer however, lets me do just that - enter new records in the record set returned by any particular query... odd!

Nope... this is what just happened -

On the problem comp, I went into the Queries properties, and changed the Unique Records property to No, then when I ran the Query, it displayed the appropriate records, and this time, the blank record at the bottom representing the New Record!

Which is all good... but it still doesn't function properly when used in a subform. In this case, the Query returns details of products that have been used in a particular Quote. So I have a form, ViewQuote, with QuoteID being the link between the main form, and the Subform which should display all the Products used on the respective QuoteID, as well as the usual blank row at the bottom, for another Product to be entered!

Sorry.. I am not being eloquent, its late. Hope you can help though!
