I have 5 pcs running windows 7 pro 64 bit they are all part of the homegroup
I am trying to share a legacy access 97 database system so that each pc can access and/or change the same data (mdb) simultaneously. The mdb is in a shared folder on machine 1.
I have created an xp virtual machine on each pc and installed office 97 sp2. I have run the jet35 patch
Each machine can open the mdb. If I open the common mdb by accessing it from pc 2's xpmode copy of access 97, any other pc (pc1, pc3, pc4, or pc5) access97 returns "disk or network error."
Have I configured the several xp modes incorrectly. Is this scheme executable at all? Can several different machines in xpmode access a common mdb? Are these questions clear? If so, does anyone have any ideas about this?
