I have a main form with a subform for creating purchase orders. in the subform, details for an order are entered in datasheet format. i have a problem with a quantity column. if you click in the cell and type 15, it doesn't overwrite the default 0 and the result is 150. this is bad when you want to order 15 of something and end up ordering 150.

i looked in the options and changed the 'behaviour entering field' but it has no effect. no matter what number i enter, it multiplies it by 10.

any ideas?

I would suggest that this is caused by your default "0" being present when you click into field.

"Bahaviour entering field" takes effect when you TAB (or progress) into the field, and not when you Mouse Click into the field.

As a remedy, remove the default 0 from the field (at form & table level) and make the quantity a required field (in table)

I checked for the default 0 in the form, but didn't realize it could be at the table level. thanks for the pointer.
