Hello Guys,

I'm new to Access, I also did a search and tried different ones but none gave me what I'm really looking for. I hope someone can help me. Here goes:-

I'm working on an access database for my course work. one of the requirements is "Your database application should have its own icon which activates the application on a double click" bearing in mind that after completion this database need to be stored on a CD, zip or similar storage device for submission.
How do I go about changing the access icon, also when i save the database anywhere and try to open it on another system, my new icon will be visible.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

go to tools ,startup
In application Icon supply the path and name of the icon(keep in same directory as your database
place a tick in the box labelled Use as form and report Icon

Create a short cut to the database
right click on the shortcut select properties then the shortcut tab and then change Icon and browse for your icon

Your shortcut should now look like your Icon

double click on the Icon and yopur database should open and display your Icon in the top left of your forms and reports

thanks alot for your help, I wasn't well hence my late reply....nevertheless....I tried the above and 1. the word shortcut still remain with the icon even when the name is changed. 2. I have to select a programme to open the database from a list.

Is there anyway I can eliminate this?

thanks again.
