Access asks Password when closing database?

I have a database where I've added a password. Just a simple password that anybody who has it can open the database.

My question is, why does it ask for the password when I close that database? Do I need to type the password in again when this happend?

You probably have the database set to Compact on Close which seems to ask for a password when closing.

I don't think it makes any difference whether you enter this or not as it doesn't appear to effect the compaction.

Might be wrong though......

Yes, I do have it set to Compact on Close. And I don't think it makes a difference but wanted to ask if some-one knew if there was any difference. Better safe than sorry, I say.
