Hi,

I'm looking for a Access CMDB for my company. (configuration management database (CMDB)
We want to register our software/hardware in a CMDB in access
i think it's a waste of time to create a cmdb myself i prefer change a
existing CMDB :)
Maybe someone knows where i can find one please
let me know? Thx.

Content Management Database?

Surely it depends on the content, if that's the acronym.

I beleive this is a Configuration Management Database. Coincidently, exactly what I am creating bespoke to our company following ITIL best practice.

I mean a A configuration management database (CMDB) is a unified or federated repository of information related to all the components of the information system. It helps an organization to understand the relationships between these components and track their configuration. The CMDB is a fundamental component of an ITIL framework.

The CMDB records configuration items (CI) and details about the important relationships between CIs. A configuration item is an instance of an entity that has configurable attributes: for example a computer, a process or an employee. A key success factor in implementing a CMDB is the ability to automatically discover information about the CIs (auto-discovery), and track changes as they happen.

CMDBs contain metadata, and therefore as a category of product used to run large IT organizations overlap with the concept of the metadata repository. Configuration management as a process area addresses how the data is to be kept up to date, an historic weakness of metadata repositories.
