What would cause my database to keep coming up with the "needs repairing warning when trying to load. This has happend 4 times today and I have been able to recover from the self repair 3 times, luckly I had a very recent backup on the 4th occasion". The warning tell me that a user may have exited incorrectly. Is there any safeguards anyone could suggest that I can add to prevent this.

Is this split up in to be and fe...do you compact on close? if so thats your problem.

The data base is not split, I have an intention to do so once I am satisifed with its overall performance. I have compacted it today but not on closing.

Any suggestions as to when this should be done?
Would it be better to split now?

It sounds as though user instruction would help. Perhaps there is a machine that 2 users share and one comes up and logs the other off without closing the open programs or someone has a lot of crashes throughout the day.
