access database password

Is there a way to get around a password on the database if I didn't create the file?

As I understand it, if you don't know the password used to create the security in the first place, there is no way to retrieve it. Jet will not release the password under any circumstances. Access security is like a concrete chastity belt - once it's on, you'll never get it off.

Doesn't this website offer some sort of commercial service to retrieve data in situations like this?

You can retrieve the User Level Security ... Group, User, and Password information if you have the right software. This software is very expensive.

Also ... it is illegal to break the security of a secured database without the permission of the owner of the database.
