I have an database that was programmed in Access 2007 on a desktop of one of my clients. I have a laptop with Access 2010. The 2007 file (IMS.accdb) works great in my clients office. When I copy the database to my laptop it will not open when I am not connected to his wireless network - even when the backend database to which all of the tables are linked is in the same folder on my laptop.
Furthermore, I can create a new database and import all of the tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and modules on my laptop and it works fine but this new database (with no changes whatever) will not open in with the 2007 access - even though it was originally created with 2007 (confirming that none of the features available only in 2010 are not utilized).
I have, then 2 questions:
1. What would cause my database to not open when not connected to the wireless network (which does not give me access to any server files, only the internet) but to open when I am connected?
2. Why is the database on my laptop an "unrecognized database format" on the desktop with 2007?
