Access DB Email Validation and Update

I would like to find a program that will check all of the email addresses in an MS Access 1997 database and mark the bad ones.

Please let me know if you know where I can find something to do this.

How do you define a "bad" email address?

A 'bad' email address means that the address is not valid. The programs should check the destination server of the email address for validity.
