The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 5 Nov 2025 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
Please note that the UK has now reverted to winter time. For local times, please check World Time Buddy
In this session, we are very pleased to welcome Ynte Jan Kuindersma from the Netherlands.
You will learn how to use Power Automate to send mail, create calendar events, and work with contacts. Besides that, flows can do a few hundred more things.
Setup is easy as Power Automate is incorporated in your Office 365 suite, and the security is guarded by Entra ID. For some actions you will need an extra license.
You will learn about the basics, but from an Access developer's perspective. Then we explore how to automate flows from VBA.
• Creating and editing Flows, eventually supported by Copilot
• Navigating the many Triggers and Actions available
• Calling a Flow's https endpoint from VBA, post JSON data, await the response
• Implementing Flows to send mails from Access, work with calendar and contacts
Ynte Jan will demonstrate how Power Automate can be used to trigger flows that:
• send emails with and without attachments (without using CDO in Access, Outlook or the Graph API)
• create appointments in Outlook
• get upcoming free slots of a variable length in your agenda
• get data from an external data source and save the records as a CSV file to OneDrive, ready to be processed in Access.
I hope you will join us on Wed 5 Novfor this session.
For more details about the topic and speaker together with connection details for the meeting, please visit https://www.isladogs.co.uk/aeu-45/ or https://accessusergroups.org/europe/event/access-europe-2025-11-05/
Please also download and import this iCalendar (.ics) file to your calendar application e.g. Outlook.
Doing this will add a recurring event for the first Wed of each month at the correct time for your location/time zone.
The meeting will again be held on Zoom. When the time comes, you can connect using Join Zoom Meeting.
