guys you know how to make the access file into a stand alone program.

where the design is hidden.

b,

A stand-alone version that doesn't require installation of Access? I think
that's the run-time version.

But, I think you mean a .MDE file.

That hides your code and prevents design changes to forms, but you still
need to have MS Access installed.

Search here or Google for "Microsoft Access" and "MDE".

There are some precautions that require strong error trapping and
BACKUP of the original MDB file.

Hope that gets you a small step closer.

If you are using Access 2007 you can create an ACCDE file and use the FREE Access Runtime to run the file. You do not need the full version of Access to run the database. The Access runtime is essentially Access with all design features disabled.

The two things you have to provide with using the runtime is really good error handling and any toolbars/ribbons you want your users to have. If you don't provide any custom ribbons then they won't have anything but a close button available.
