All,
I am considering using Access 2010 Front End linked to SQL Server Backend to Build a User Interface for Data Entry. I have a couple questions.

1. Can you publish an Access Database that is linked to a SQL Server backend to Sharepoint?
2. When a User pulls up the Published Access form on Sharepoint do they have to have MS Access installed on their computer?

Thanks
Brian

I don''t believe so. When you publish to Sharepoint your tables become Sharepoint lists.

That depends. An A2010 web database is allowed to have both Web objects (forms, reports) and Client objects. The Web objects will run in a browser, but the Client objects will only run in the Access client. You could, however, use the runtime version for users that do not have Access installed.

Further to the Sharepoint subject, in case you don't already know, if you want to publish an A2010 web database to Sharepoint so it can be accessed via a web browser, it can't be just any version of Sharepoint. It must be Sharepoint 2010 Enterprise Edition with Access Services (to the best of my knowledge anyway). If this is not available within your organization there are third party services that offer Sharepoint hosting.

Thanks Beetle, I appreciate the response.....
