Access 97. I have a split front/back end database The back end sits on our main network server and users access their front end (on a different server) via a hyperlink on their pc.

The other day we had a new main server installed. So the table links from the front end were/should be no longer viable, however on opening the front end the user was still able to see records which used to be on the back end. A new record was added to the back end and the user was able to see a record with the new PK visible but every other field blank. I would have expected nothing to be accessible until I'd relinked. Weird or what?

I've had something similar. I Repaired and compacted the database (both FE & Server) and relinked the tables. This then resolved the issue.
