The program is corrupting ITSELF!

I was getting help setting up references from one text box to another. Well I got one to work fine then I did another and they both flashed the #error field.

I go back into the expressions...and there are extraneous [] marks around certain values!

=Nz([ReferralTable subform].Form![Text17],0)
becomes:

=Nz([ReferralTable subform].[Form]![Text17],0)
or
=Nz([ReferralTable subform].[Form]!Text17,0)

Why??
I even replaced all the text boxes I was referencing from and to. The replace made everything alright UNTIL I tried to do the second reference/expression again.

Is Microsoft out to to get me? Whats the deal? Thanks

Dont worry about Access changing and adding [] that's not your problem. Use the expression builder to reference the field in the subform and see what happens then. Make sure you've named the subform correctly, I notice you have a space where you might not have one in the subform name. Try taking out the Nz function bit to make sure that's not throwing it off. You can't be far off getting it now.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my cold dark heart.

It just so happened that I had re-named a field on the fly...and the disarity between the name in the table and the RE-name in the form properties was causing the problem.

Lesson, kiddies? Its to make sure everything syncs up...and to be more methodical.

Kudos to everyone on these forum boards!!!!
