Just out of curiosity i'm interested to see what the actual lifetime limits are for an access database specifically relevant to objects created and then deleted.

I know that cretaing and then deleting objects contributes to the usage to date but can anyone tell me what the limits actually are?

I'm keen to see just how many system objects "lives" access thinks i've burnt up so far and viewing the hidden tables isn't a problem but i'd like to know what the limit actually is.

I assume that if i am approcahing the limit that pulling the database objects through to a new version will also pull the system objects records through as well?

Thanks

Vince

What do you mean by limits? You can have upto 2 gigs of data and database objects. If you delete an object do a compact and repair to free up the space of the deleted object.

Go into Access HELP and type in Specification and hit enter. You should see a heading of Access Specifications. Click on that to get that and more info about it.

Thanks for that!
The last place i'd normally look for help about access is in the Access help file!! lol

According to my wildy ambiguous calculations i think i'm pretty safe as it seems that by the time my mdb hits those limits having gone full cycle the earth with be spinning the other way round and the dinosuars will be back!... By then someone else will be looking after this application so he can figure it out for himself!

Cheers all

There is actually a lot of useful information in the Access Help files. It isn't always easy to find but it is there
