Access link to Excel

All,

When I open an Excel Workbook from Access,
and then close done Excel,
excel.exe is still in memory,
I assume this because the Sub that called is still somehow linked, when I close Access excel.exe closes.

How do i stop this?

This is a couple of years after asking, but maybe it will help someone else.

Make sure when you are accessing a recordset, whether it is in Access or Excel via a workbook/worksheet, that you close or quit the recordset.

"<recordset>.close"

where recordset is either your access recordset, your excel workbook or your excel worksheet.
