Access list box control

Hello.

Can anyone recommend a good list box control for MSAccess 2010 please? I have been using eXList from eXontrol which is okay but has some speed limitations. I need to be able colour individual rows/columns and allow using sorting on each column.

Any suggestions would be great thanks.

In the past i have used, with great satisfaction i might add, some controls from ComponentOne Studio. But that was in VB6... Since then, a lot has changed but they still make them.

That's a good point - I had forgotten about them. They still do ActiveX controls. Does anyone know if Access will always be stuck with VBA or will there be some wrench away to .Net? (not sure how they would make such a migration - but it would be A Good Thing™ IMHO).

I the near future Microsoft doesn't have any plans to migrate VBA to .NET. **Thank some holy person**

If you want to use colors in your listbox using native controls, you can fake a listbox by using a continuous form as a subform and use conditional formatting rules to change the colors.

If you can justify it you could go down the route of purchasing a set of OCX controls, heres an example of one I use

I know - it is quite a neat trick - but unfortunately it has limitations and doesn't work on all calculations. I forget the exact limitation...

Just checking now and I can get it to work in the query but as soon as I transpose it to a list box on a form the colour formatting is lost.

If it did it would be ideal as it is super fast.

Actually since moving to 2010 we now get sort menus at the top of datasheets on subforms - with that in mind I can now use that to do what I want. Sorry for the round about way of finding out - but thanks for reminding me in the first place!
