Access & Multiple Monitors

This is an issue that has perplexed me thru several versions of Access since I began using multiple monitors.

I can spread the entire Access desktop across the multiple monitors, or reduce it to one monitor.

I can move the various toolboxes among monitors, which really cleans up the main desktop.

What I can't do is to take a window of any object instantiated from the database container, such as a form, report, etc., in either design or display mode, and move that object to another monitor.

While not a show stopper, it would be nice to be able to move open design windows to other monitors...making cut and paste, and other similar operations, much easier.

Has anyone else seen this behavior and/or discovered a correction?

TIA

Could you move the db container to moniter 2, open the object, then move the db container window back to window 1?

Good idea, but I tried that long ago with no success and the same holds true with A2003.

It's a very odd situation and one not encountered in other programs that have multiple toolboxes and windows open simultaneously, such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, or Photoshop.

Hum... Send it to Microsoft and see if you get any response...

Set forms pop-up property to YES.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I use multiple monitors too, and if you set the pop-up property of any form to YES, you can move it across monitors in view mode, but not in design mode.

My larger forms are usually set to open maximized, and the smaller forms are usually set as pop-up, to prevent them from maximizing when the large forms are maximized.

The question is whether the window is considered a sub-window or a separate window. As noted by PierreR, the PopUp property seems to control this factor.

I understand the pop-up issue when a form is in display mode. What I'm curious about is a form's behavior when in design mode.

When in design mode I can't seem to move any "design" window to another monitor. For example, if I have a form from which I want to copy some items open at the same time as the one to which I want to copy the items, it would be nice to have one on one monitor and one on another.

Another oddity is if I move a "pop-up" form, open in display mode, to another monitor, right click, and choose "design mode," it re-locates itself to the main monitor.

There doesn't seem a way to get around the issue that I've divined.

There is one workaround...spreading the entire Access desktop to span two or more monitors, but this, in my case, defeats the purpose of the additional monitors. For ecample, I like to have Word open on another monitor such that I can develop help files as I work on the Access entity.

Thanks for your thoughts.

BTW, I did send this off to Microsoft a couple years back (A2K??) and they didn't evaluate it as a bug.
