access reports integrate with outlook express

i would like to find out if there is a way to send reports microsoft outlook express. i have done it with normal microsoft outlook but not with outlook express.

Use DoCmd.SendObject, should work fine with OE.

i think the problem why the sendobject command does not work is that i am on access version 2. is there a way to integrate access 2 with outlook express. when i use the send command it comes up with errors.

Access version 2? Not sure what you mean by that.

Post your code, and also the error message you get. As long as OE is working correctly, the is no need to "integrate" the two; it should just hook into OE's mailing function. I don't use OE, I use GroupWise at work and even those work together OK despite being Novell/Microsoft.

the version of microsoft access i use is version 2.0 the 16bit version for windows 3.1 due to the fact that in south africa we sell more old pc's than new ones as it people cant afford it. that is why i have developed the application so that it would run from a 486 to p4. i press the email button i select the format as .rtf format the error is "cant send message" and that is all i get.

hope you would be able to figure that out as the error message is not every descriptive.

Wow, thats some old software. Have you verified that Outlook Express is working? I have no idea about mailing on Windows 3.1 its a long time since I have used that.

If price is a consideration, have you considered using free software on your PCs???

the price is not the problem for development we have all the latest development tools the holdback is technology. people cant afford to buy new stuff so they purchase second hand systems like pi pii which we need to cater for and to make the system stable as these are rural areas and there is not even telephone lines in these places we had to create a 16 bit version which can run on these platforms some of them still have 486 computers with windows 3.1

Outlook Express

I have found that in internet expolrer set the default email to Outlook Express and your send object will send out via that email client.

I think that the access I use is to old for outlook express as I have tried all different solutions but still none work I get microsoft outlook to work and will standardise on that and it will solve a lot of problems as access 2.0 works 100% with microsoft outlook. Thanks for all your help
